Celebrating 600

Today I am excited to announce that I have written 600 posts. When I started Inspiring Max I never dreamed this was possible. My first post was Mother’s Day 2014. When I reached 100 posts on my Mother’s birthday 30th October, 2014, I had 3,000 views. I was so happy. My 400th post occurred on 16th February, 2016 a few months before I took a break from blogging. Now 6 1/2 years after my first post, I have approximately 32,000 views. My goal for next year is to continue to grow inspiring Max, gaining momentum with every post.

To celebrate my six hundredth post I have created an acrostic poem:

Seeking new ideas

Interacting and inspiring is my goal

Xcited to be on this amazing journey

Honing my skills with

Unique and positive posts

Navigating my way

Determined to make a difference

Respecting and responding to others

Enjoying the journey

Driven by inspiration

Trusting my instincts

Happy others find my hard work helpful

Passion, persistence and positivity

Open the way for my original

Simple success

Thankful for Inspiring Max’s amazing community

Over the last week I had a forced lesson on how important my blogging community is. Due to technical details, I was unable to connect with anyone on my blog. And can I tell you it felt terrible. It was like giving a speech in a large empty stadium. A lot of effort went into the preparation, but as there was no feedback, I had no idea whether my audience liked it or not.

Christmas Calendar # 7

One of the things that I have learnt in life is to be your own person. To act and react according to our individual beliefs, values and sense of fun. Following our dreams and interacting in our unique way brings a smile to others and can change their world.

Yoko Ono was a leader in setting your own rules and she and John Lennon certainly changed the world.

Blogging From A-Z: X is X -Factor

This year I have decided to think outside the box for X. So I have come up with a list of ideas that give a tourist destination that something special.

For me, the X-factor can be many things. possibilities include:

  • Welcoming to travelers
  • A special story attached to the town
  • Interesting scenery or connection to nature
  • Make use of available resources
  • Friendly people
  • Sell their uniqueness
  • Encourage travelers by making a special feature of the area to draw crowds e.g. Parkes Elvis festival
  • Well maintained parks and open spaces
  • Family friendly facilities
  • Including anything that is different to home
  • National Parks
  • Ability to see local animals
  • Good quality food, reasonably priced
  • Museums and places of history
  • Tourist information centres with knowledgeable staff
  • Local walking tours both self guided and with knowledgeable local identities

There is only one problem with spending time thinking about holidays. Now I have to go and plan my next Xtraordinaire adventure.

Make Mine A Quirky World

Which quirky habit annoys you the most, and what quirky habit do you love — in yourself, or others.

Our quirky habits are what makes us individuals. By being individual, our quirks and habits blend together to make an interesting eclectic mix full of high and low points. Without black and white you can’t appreciate colour and sometimes to get the full impact of a situation you need to see it in black and white to feel the emotion.

My greatest quirk is probably my ability to always find the positive in anything and work with it — even if to begin with, it is only a spark. I am its oxygen and over time the fire of positivity grows g bigger brighter and stronger. My goal in life is the same as Inspiring Max’s, “to inspire you—developing a spark of hope into a fire that warms you and lights your path.”

In my opinion, the opposite to my quirky world is a Stepford world. And whilst I enjoyed the movie for its entertainment value, I would hate to live in a world where everyone is the same. I love the uniqueness our quirks— good and bad — bring to our lives. They all teach us something, even if that something is what not to do.
